This week we were blessed to have Tim Watson come and speak to us. Tim is the brother-in-law to the tall and awesome Brian Wang and a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern at Metroplex Counseling in Fort Worth, Tx. Tim was not our average speaker, not only was he related to one of the staff, but he was intentional in hanging out with all of the students. He went Zip-lining with us on our Mystery Monday, had intentional conversations throughout the week, he even walked around campus talking to students. Enough about Tim, and more of what he spoke on this week.

Mystery Monday- Paintball

Today, we had the awesome opportunity to go play paintball as a group in the Ozarks! I had been looking forward to it, as I've never played before, but also became super nervous as we were putting on our gear and walking out to the battlefield. In the freezing cold temperature of 28 º (as my phone read) with a few flurries coming down, we entered the danger zone – all shivering yet ready for war. What made it even better was when Colt came out last, no jacket or any sleeves on, looking intimidating and ready to take down his enemies – my team. Great.

A Great Ending In A New Castle

Well friends, we had our last day of sightseeing and adventures in Ireland today! The past few days have been filled with a lot of reflection time. We did another night of poetry on Sunday! This time we set it up very “coffee shop open mic” with dim lights and everyone had to wear some form of head gear/hat to present their poem. The students have really come to enjoy these times of vulnerability. It is fun, and draws them together in a totally different way. Some are real and reveal deep hurts, concerns and fears, while others are very positive about growth reflection and aspects of life that they are thankful for. As we did last time, a few of the poems are below.

A Day In Dublin.. And Beyond

Well, it has been a good while since our last post! So sorry for the lack of update on our adventures!

We loaded the buss left bright and early THURSDAY morning at 7am for a day trip to Dublin! We passed the beautiful Monasterboice on our sunrise drive! Once in Dublin we went to see the Book of Kells, The Chester Beatty Library, and the National Gallery. After our group tours, we were free for a day enjoying the neat city of Dublin! I will let the students tell you more about these experiences below. Unfortunately, we were not permitted to take cameras inside the museums and library, so there are not many pictures of these experiences. You can look further into these neat places if you desire by visiting their websites.
