What a day! Today we went to visit one of the most historic and ancient towns in all of Ireland. Down Patrick is a small town with a population of about 10,000 people and is roughly 21 miles outside of Belfast. This town has a strong connection to Saint Patrick. He was reputed buried there in 461 on Cathedral Hill within the grounds of Down Cathedral. When researching Down Patrick before we arrived, I knew it was going to be a very educational trip but I don’t think any of us really expected it to be so beautiful! God truly is good. Once we arrived at the Church of Saul, we got off the bus and got to take a few pictures, which was definitely a highlight of the day. We found an old cemetery, which was so cool to explore and think about all the history that took place there. We had quite a bit of fun exploring the grounds and just marveling at God’s beautiful work.
