Grace, Freedom, and Unconditional Love | Kaitlyn Bennett

Currently sitting in the classroom at Link Year reflecting on this past week. I am not the same as I was when I walked in to this program. I am broken. I have insecurities. I am no where near perfection. I know all those statements are things we have known to be true. But when I sit here and think about everything I have learned, I am astounded by all the grace that has been shown to me through Jesus Christ. I do not deserve the radical grace that was displayed on the cross for me.

I have learned that being comfortable is dangerous. You are constantly in this loop of being okay where you are and not even reaching out to other people or loving those around you who may be hurting. I have learned that I am selfish. I think about myself more than I think of others and desire to be approved by others instead of taking that desire and crushing it and caring about others hearts more.

I will disappoint. I will always let people down. But the good news is that there is always grace.

I am forgiven. I am redeemed. I have been set free.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for allowing me to be at link year. Thank you for breaking me down so that I may have the opportunity to be built back up into the women you have designed me to become. Thank you for giving me grace even when I don’t deserve it. You have set me free. Thank you for loving me unconditionally.

Your daughter,

Kaitlyn Elizabeth

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Take a look at what went on at Link Year this week!

We were joined this week by author and preacher, D.A. Horton. He taught on being a student of scripture, one of the 7 pillars. He even asked the students their APQs (apologetic questions)!

On Wednesday we drove out to Arkansas and went exploring in a CAVE! We split into groups and had a great time encouraging one another and pushing our comfort zones. We crawled through tight spaces, crossed creeks, and even saw bats!

Our end of the week TGIF was at Fritz's Adventure! We spent the afternoon running through tunnels, climbing rock walls, balancing on a ropes course, sneaking through a laser maze, and more. It's safe to say we had a good time!
