This week we had the pleasure if hearing from two incredible speakers. On Tuesday we started off with the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Joe White. He gave us a break neck pace look at how the Nile accurately predicts the time that Christ would come. It was really cool and a lot of fun with everyone feeding off of Joe's passion for this subject. After that Josh Straub came up to speak with us for the rest of the week. He was awesome... personally a favorite. He spoke to about relationships and psychology. I guess that's rather broad so ill try to break it down a little better. He mainly focused on different types of attachments, Anxious, Avoidant, Nervous, and Secure. We learned what type of attachment style we were and the implications behind that in our relationships with others and with God. We learned about the drawbacks each style (besides secure) faces in relationships. Lastly Josh encouraged with the story of Ruth, who came from a people that were conceived through sin and redeemed her. He made her the great great grandmother, and consequently part of Jesus' lineage. God can and will take our shortcomings and insecurities and redeem us to His purposes.
