Hello Friends! Link Year has been a blast so far. WE have had awesome speakers, great fellowship, worship, and countless other things. I know that a lot of people have been talking about the great community and leadership here at Link Year, but I am here to tell you about some of the inside jokes that the class of 2013 has developed.
As a class, there are a variety of personalities that overtake the campus. That being said, the things that are said throughout the day, in and out of conversations, are quite humorous. One day, the class was hanging out in our "living room" or the Ala moana. Someone came in and was having a pretty rough day, so, naturally, we asked what was wrong. The words that came out of this specific person's mouth were, and I quote, "Guys, it is just a strugbus kind of day." Needless to say, the room was filled with both laughter and confusion.
I know all of you might be thinking, "What exactly is a strugbus?" Well, friends, that is why I am here. You see, the strugbus comes around the block whenever you need it to. There is no specific schedule of the strugbus. Whenever the going gets tough, hop on the strugbus. Whenever you have a lot to do that day and you feel somewhat stressed, board the strugbus. When you cannot seem to keep those eyelids from drooping in class, well, take a ride on the strugbus. The strugbus will always be there to pick you up and make your day a little better.
Some of you who are reading this are probably confused and cannot help but wonder how a figurative bus could pick up your day. You see, the strugbus term is meant to be on the funny side of life. When you say, "I am aboard the strugbus," your day will just get a little brighter because you can add some laughter to whatever situation has caused you to board the strugbus. I like to relate the strugbus to Jesus in a way. Whenever you are having a hard time, Jesus is always there to help you and to pick you up when you need to be picked up. We just have to trust that Jesus will always be there for us no matter what the circumstance. I can guarantee that your day will get better if you think about that.
So whenever you are having a bad day, let Jesus and the strugbus help you out. I promise you will not be disappointed. And whenever you do board the strugbus, think about us here at Link Year and how even though we are at one of the greatest places on this planet, there are many times a day when a lot of us board the strugbus and ask Jesus to help brighten our day. You are not alone my friend. Thanks for reading.
