Mystery Monday Blog
This week, we had a really cool mystery Monday. We drove all the way to Arkansas (which isn’t actually that far) and ended up at the Harrison K-Life house. After finding a dead bird in the woods and scaring a bunch of girls, we went in to the K-life house to hang out and just have a really good time. The K-life house has a barn swing, where you swing around above a foam pit and try not to fall off. That’s not the best explanation, but you can try to imagine it. My first time on the barn swing, I swung around in the air and managed to smash my hip on the starting platform. I will be sore and limping for probably two weeks. But hey, no pain, no gain. We all played four square, basketball, and just enjoyed life. We also signed thank you cards to the Kanakuk Kauai donors, as a way to thank them for their generosity.
After leaving the K-Life house, the Link Year staff bought us lunch at Neighbors Mill Deli and Bakery. It’s a great local restaurant and bakery that has a very homey and down to earth vibe. I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy eating at local restaurants and soaking in the culture and atmosphere that they have to offer. So this was a cool experience. Overall, it was a great day of fun, food, and fellowship.
